Another monthly highlight! Meet Chris!Hello! I am Christine Moss and I am the Creative Arts Director for Northumberland Youth Unlimited and I like playing music, photography, and walking and talking with my Creator. With degrees in music and teaching, I first taught music for 10 years in the school system. I left teaching after having felt the call to move into fulltime ministry with Northumberland Youth Unlimited (YFC). It’s now 27 years later and I am still serving Christ and the local community of youth. My ministry has evolved over the years: I’ve served in the schools as a volunteer, I’ve given leadership to our local youth drop-in (The Silverworks), I’ve been the assistant director of numerous youth music teams, ran a “Bike Club”, and walked alongside many youth through crisis, pain, life choices, and joyful celebrations. Seven years ago NYU established an afterschool/summer day camp program called Created to Create. One of my favourite scripture verses is: “For we are God’s Masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.” Ephesians 2:10Created to Create (C2C) offers programming that offers instruction in an area of their interest such as: Musical Theatre, Painting, Drawing, Photography, Concert Band, and Stop Motion Animation, to name a few.Youth come together to learn how to be better at their chosen skill/passion and they learn about how to be like the One who created them: loving, kind, gentle, patient, joyful, peaceful, good. In essence, learning how to be a better image reflector of the One who created them. ...
